该监测器运用盖革计数管来来测定α、β、γ及Χ射线辐射。每次射线穿过管子并引起电离时,盖革计数管会产生一脉冲电流。每个脉冲都是电子探测并进行运算。探测器以你选择的模式显示计算:CPM,mR/hr,或者总计。在s1单位中,使用CPS和µsv/hr。检测器探测出来的计数数字由于放射能的任意状态而每分钟都在变化。以过去一段时间内的平均值表示更加准确,而且这段时间越长数据越准确。

检测器可以测定α、β、γ和x射线。用来探测辐射强度的微小变化,并且对通常的放射性核有很高的灵敏度。
检测器计数电离情况并将结果显示在液晶显示器(LCD)上。该检测器设计为既可以使用常规的单位(mR/hr 和CPM),又可以使用s1单位(µsv/hr和CPS)。使用模式开关可以显示你所选择的测定单位。
检测器运行时,每探测到一次计数(一个电离过程),红计数灯就会闪动一次。
mR/hr µsv/hr.数字显示器显示辐射强度可以从.001到100. mR/hr。用s1单位时,显示出当前辐射程度可从.01到1000µsv/hr.
CPM CPS.以每分钟计数时,显示器显示出的当前辐射强度可从0到300,000CPM。在显示×1000时,用1000乘所读的数字即为最终数据。在使用s1单位时,显示器显示的辐射程度以每秒计数,可从0到5000CPS。
Total/Timer 开关至于这个位置时,显示器显示从开关置于这一位置开始计数,累积计数总量可从0到9,999,000。在显示×1000时,1000乘所读数字即为最终获得的数据。

The Inspector Alert measures alpha, beta, gamma and x-radiation using a 2-inch "pancake" GM detector with high sensitivity to common beta and alpha sources.
The easy-to-read digital display shows readings in your choice of mR/hr, CPM, CPS, or µS/hr. The Total/Timer feature allows timed readings from one minute to 24 hours for precise measurement of low level contamination. An audible alert sounds when the radiaiton reaches a user-adjustable level.
